Our Story
James 'Scooter' Ball started Sieoptim in October 2025 for 2 complementary purposes:

To provide a landing for well-seasoned and proven mechanical, electrical and technical controls talents outside of the normal BAS industry career paths.

To connect these experienced technicians with the work they want to perform for clients that need to improve their installed base in support of sustainability goals.
There is a generation of controls technicians that are currently approaching the ends of their careers. This generation was born into pneumatic controls and were the original digital controls technicians. Their field experience is unmatched and nearly impossible to replicate. Many of these technicians simply moved up or out of the industry. It is also a reality that the BAS industry is currently in dire need of experienced talent that can fully understand the control system as well as the systems under control.
Sieoptim was built to fill the gap, in some small way, between the skills of a younger generation with less real-world knowledge and the abilities of the most senior talents with significant real-world experience.
Our hope is for Sieoptim to grow as a resource to those organizations with strong in-house controls teams that can be supported by our pool of experienced skillsets.
